At With Heart & Soul, we take pride in offering an exceptional DEMDACO shopping experience. For nearly 20 years, we’ve earned recognition in Northern Rhode Island for our unmatched level of customer service and shopping amenities. We proudly carry DEMDACO, the Kansas City gift company with a simple mission: lifting the spirit. Home to the beloved Willow Tree figurines and the watercolor dinnerware of artist Dean Crouser, DEMDACO creates pieces designed to bring comfort, joy, and connection to the people you love.

Willow Tree Figurines

Willow Tree began with a simple idea from sculptor Susan Lordi: share the feelings words can’t always express. Each original figure is hand-carved in her Kansas City studio, then cast and hand-painted. Her simple, faceless forms let gesture and posture carry the emotion, so every piece feels personal to the person who receives it. Since the line debuted in January 2000, it has grown from angels and a nativity set to figures for friendship, family, comfort, and celebration, plus ornaments and keepsake boxes. Our display case is a favorite stop for anyone searching for a meaningful gift.

Dean Crouser Mugs & Dinnerware

Bring a little watercolor to your table with Dean Crouser. The Oregon-raised painter is known for a loose, spontaneous style that captures simple outdoor scenes, and his wildflower and butterfly designs bring that spirit to everyday dishes. Choose stoneware mugs that hold 16 ounces and are safe for the microwave and dishwasher, then add matching bowls, plates, and a large oval platter for your next get-together. They make a cheerful gift for nature lovers, gardeners, and anyone who loves to host.

Kitchen & Entertaining Favorites

Make hosting feel effortless with DEMDACO’s kitchen and entertaining pieces. Browse ceramic bread baskets, serveware, and dip bowls designed to be as pretty as they are practical. A bread basket paired with a coordinating towel makes an easy hostess gift for the holidays, a housewarming, or a thank you.

DEMDACO is based in the Kansas City area and was co-founded by Demi Lloyd and Dave Kiersznowski. The company’s guiding mission is “lifting the spirit,” and it works with dozens of artists to create gifts, home decor, and kitchen pieces that bring joy, comfort, and connection.

Willow Tree is the creation of sculptor Susan Lordi. She hand-carves each original figure in her Kansas City studio, and each piece is then cast and hand-painted. Willow Tree debuted at gift shows in January 2000 and has been a favorite ever since.

The faceless style is a defining part of Willow Tree. With simple forms and no facial features, the figures rely on gesture and body language to express emotion, which lets each person see their own story in the piece.

Start with the feeling or moment you want to honor, such as comfort, friendship, family, celebration, or remembrance. Our team is happy to help you match a figure to the person and the occasion, and we can gift wrap it for you.

Dean Crouser is an Oregon-raised painter whose love of camping, fishing, and the outdoors shapes his work. He paints quickly and loosely to capture simple scenes that people can relate to, and DEMDACO brings his watercolors to mugs, dinnerware, towels, and more.

The 16 oz Dean Crouser stoneware mugs are safe for both the microwave and the dishwasher. Serveware like the large oval platter is made from bamboo and melamine, which is top-rack dishwasher safe, so check the care label on each piece before microwaving.
